This design incorporates the idea of affordable stealth as the small size of jf17 does not allow the placement of an internal weapons bay. Though the decrease in range can be accounted for by IFR . So this prototype of jf17 has to carry weapons on the external pylons. A Jf17 carrying A2A payload will have relatively small profile as compared to A2G payload, and will pose a major threat to enemy forces.

Turkey Gets It, Acquires F-35s. Obama Administration Doesn't.
The Turkish government understands what the Obama Administration does not: Acquiring the American-made F-35 fighter jet is the most effective way to claim supremacy of the skies.
Yesterday, Turkey’s Defense Industry Implementation Committee announced the purchase of two Lockheed Martin F-35s. Turkey had put its F-35 order on hold in March over concerns of technology sharing and cost. However, the recent announcement suggests that Turkey is preparing itself for the increasing challenges that its neighborhood poses.
It’s unfortunate that the Obama Administration has failed to register the message. In addition to canceling production of the F-22, a stealth fighter jet built to ensure U.S. supremacy over any battlefield, the Administration has reduced production of the F-35, which American taxpayers have invested $50 billion in. As the first aircraft in history with a 360-degree view and the ability to see over 800 miles with integrated combat systems, the F-35 is a marvel of modern engineering.
In a time of austerity, critics of F-35 production argue that the jet is too expensive. Yet what they disregard is that the cost of plane decreases as production and sale of jets to allies increases. As part of the international F-35 consortium, British Defense Minister Phillip Hammond expressed concern over the cuts to the program yesterday, citing the likelihood that costs of the jet will increase if there is reduced production.
Rather than limiting production of the F-35 and cancelling its brother, the F-22, the Obama Administration should invest in the potential these jets offer to U.S. air capabilities and to our allies. Gutting the defense budget makes Americans and our allies less safe. A first step to remedying this is to take the F-22 and F-35 off the chopping block.

CAC J-20 no. 2001 prototype photos
The
J-20 #2001 prototype was photographed when it was preparing for
high-speed taxi trial at the CAC airfield in late December 2010, wearing
a distinctive dark green color scheme (RAM coating applied?). The
prototype features a pair of all-moving tailfins and Russian 1.44 style
ventral stabilizing fins, which shield the engine nozzles but might
increase RCS.It also features an F-22 style forward fuselage, including Caret intakes but with DSI bumps installed at the upper inner corners, as well as a one-piece frameless canopy. However the canards appear to extend slightly above the plane of the main wings and there are four large underwing actuator fairings which might not be stealth optimized. First disclosed by US Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) in 1997 as XXJ, J-20 is the 4th generation multi-role fighter to enter the service between 2015 and 2018. Since 90s both CAC/611 Institute and SAC/601 Institute had been working their own designs for a twin-engine multi-role heavy fighter with stealth capability and maneuverability comparable to American F-22.
It was speculated that 601 Institute was working on a "tri-plane" design (J-18?) based on canard/conventional layout/V-shape tailfin while 611 Institute working on a design based on canard/tailless delta wing/all moving V-shape tailfin/lateral DSI/bump inlet layout. All designs were expected to feature an internal weapon bay to reduce RCS, which has been speculated to be <0 .05m2="" 1475="" a="" advanced="" aesa="" aircraft="" also="" an="" and="" be="" br="" cockpit="" color="" display="" engine="" expected="" f-35="" fbw="" feature="" fire-control="" fully="" glass="" head-on="" holographic="" hud="" incorporates="" integrated="" is="" its="" j-20="" lcd="" may="" pure="" radar="" single="" system="" systems.="" the="" to="" wide-angle="" with="" ype="">
Many of these subsystems have been tested onboard J-10B to speed up the development (see above). The exact type of engine powering J-20 prototypes is unclear, even though a Russian turbofan engine such as 117S or 99M2 (14t class) or D-30F6 (15t class) with an axisymmetric TVC nozzle has been speculated. It was reported in November 2006 that a T/W=10 17t class turbofan (WS-15/"large thrust") is being developed and will eventually power J-20. Russian assistance was also speculated in terms of software support for calculating the RCS of various designs. The overall performance of J-20 is thought to be superior to that of Russian T-50 (maneuverability & supercruise) but still inferior to that of American F-22 (electronics & supercruise). In August 2008 it was reported that 611 Institute was selected to be the main contractor for the development of J-20 and 601 Institute as the sub-contractor. Subsequently a full-scale metal mockup was built at CAC.
One rumor in May 2010 claimed that 611 Institute started to construct the first prototype, which was expected to fly by the end of 2010, even though the full configuration model won't fly until a few years later. Currently two prototypes (#2001 & 2002) have been constructed and the first high-speed taxi trial by 2001 took place on December 22, 2010.0>
Indian Perspective on China's Export Stealth Fighter J-31
Chinese
media reports Quoting Chinese military commentator Lei Ze mentioned how
emergence of the Chinese fifth generation J-31 fighter jet will make it
difficult for the US to export its F-35 fighters , he also said that
Currently, the only fifth generation fighter available for sale is the
F-35 by the US. The J-31 will offer an alternative for non-traditional
allies of the US.”
Indian Defence analysts Vinayak shetty thinks otherwise and says that it is unlikely that J-31 will affect export sale of F-35, “Many countries are firmly behind F-35 Project, even when Prices have surged upwards recently but it is unlikely any of the current customers will even consider buying Chinese J-31 even if aircraft hits production now” . While J-31 is still in testing phase and good 7 to 8 years before enters production, while F-35 is all set to enter fully fledged Mass production soon.

| J-31 Stealth Fighter |
While
analysts say the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) might be one of the earliest
customers of the fighter aircraft, but Vinayak shetty believes it will
not be easy for PAF to procure these fighters, PAF are already
struggling to buy hand full of J-10 fighters for last few years, even
with Soft Loan offer provided by Chinese. PAF on other hand in past were
always reluctant to operate twin engine fighter aircraft of medium
capability size due to higher operating cost involved.
With
No 5th generation fighter aircraft Project coming out of Europe many of
these countries will be F-35 operators, and Russian Pak-Fa will capture
export orders from traditional Sukhoi 30 / Mig operators in Asia.
Traditional Chinese fighter aircraft market (Africa / Asian) countries
will struggle to operate 5th generation fighter aircraft, so it will be
very difficult for Chinese to push sales in their traditional market and
difficult to break into American traditional partners, unless sale is
bogged down by Us Export restrictions.
Vinayak
shetty also have raised concern about a potential arms race in Asia due
to emergence of Chinese J-31, many countries that are neighbours of
China and have some unsolved issues with them, might now consider buying
expensive F-35 or Pak-fa actually boosting their sales in return.
Currently
many countries are also working on their own 5th generation fighter
aircraft projects other than Russian, Us and China. India is working on
Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft, Japanese on Mitsubishi ATD-X , Turkey
on TFX and Russia again on single engine cheaper stealth fighter
aircraft based on Mikoyan LMFS , which all might actually eat into J-31
export orders .
IAF never ever considered PAK DA next generation strategic bomber
Indian air force official have said
that , “IAF never ever considered nor did Russians ever presented any
proposal on it ” has quoted by a serving IAF official when asked on
rumors of India’s interest in PAK-DA development or purchase .
PAK DA (or PAK-DA), is a next generation strategic bomber which is being developed by Russia. It stands for Perspektivnyi Aviatsionnyi Kompleks Dalney Aviatsyi which means Future Air Complex for Strategic Air Forces. The PAK DA is going to be heavily based on Russia’s current supersonic bomber Tupolev Tu-160 and is expected to have it’s maiden flight by 2015. and enter service by 2020-25 time frame .
Currently, the Russian air force has Tu-95 and Tu-160 strategic bombers, as well as long range Tu-22 bombers. Indian Navy is past was interested in renting four Tu-22M bombers , but officially no explanation was given byIndian Navy on backing out, but sources close to idrw.org have told us that high maintenance cost and further expenditure on up-gradation of this aircraft’s which had to be borne by India and it is been also told that Tu-22M on offer where not in best of shape in terms of maintenance and airframe life where possible reason why Indian Navy turned away from this aircraft’s.
Rumors of Indian interest or Russian proposal of PAK-DA sparked of lately when India’s Strategic Nuclear Command requested to have its own separate fighter bombers for nuclear platform , Russian offer or PAK-DA purchase seems to be pure media speculation and doesn’t hold ground . but demand of SNC for immediate purchase of new aircraft’s for this jobs is still under review by Goverment of India .

KF-X Korean Fifth-Generation Fighter Jet Project
The European Aerospace Defense and
Space Company (EADS) offered to invest US$2 billion in South Korea's
long-delayed fighter jet development project if it wins Seoul's jet
procurement deal.
The multinational defense firm made the offer as its Eurofighter Tranche
3 has been competing with Lockheed Martin's F-35 stealth jet and
Boeing's F-15 Silent Eagle for the 8.3 trillion won ($7.3 billion)
contract to replace the South Korean Air Force's aging fleet of F-4s and
F-5s.
The EADS also promised to build a maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO)
facility and an aerospace software center as well as provide marketing
support for Korean-made combat aircraft.
The KF-X aimed to produce a multi-role fifth-generation aircraft suited
to network-centric warfare after 2020 to replace outdated F-4Es and
F-5Es, and to market it globally. The KFX would be stealthier than
either Dassault's Rafale or Eurofighter's Typhoon but not as stealthy as
the Lockheed Martin-built F-35. The fighter would be designed as a single-seat, twin-engine aircraft with a total thrust of more than 40,000 pounds.

Stealthy Jf-17 ready to take off
Stealthy Jf-17 over Quaid-e-Azam Intl. Airport, Karachi
Seen here a Stealthy Jf-17 block 2 flying over Quaid-e-Azam Intl. Airport at Karachi during a routine sortie.
JF-35 or a JF-17 Stealthy
Pakistan and China will jointly develop stealth Aircraft. This aircraft wouldn’t be detected in enemy radars and weapons and will reach to destination. There will be necessary modifications in JF-17 to make it stealth. The memorandum has been signed in the mid of last year. JF-17 is already the part of PAF with SQD 26 replacing old Chinese Aircrafts. The second SQD is under development. PAF will initially equip with 150 JF-17. Stealth would be essential part of future wars. America was the only producer of stealth Aircrafts which are F-22 and F35 but now Russia and India joint project on stealth. Where China is not behind and showed Jxx few month ago. PAF already have done their Homework to develop or buy stealth airraft.
Jf17 here looks like a stealthier version, with all the ground personall around giving it a pre flight check. It seems to be developing more like an F-35 JSF . I will post HiRes versions of the photo later. Stay tuned.

Stealth Jf17 Prototype
My impression of a stealth JF17. It is not completed yet, u may notice some glitches in the design on a careful inspection. Any how, it shows 2 internal weapon bays at sides of intake and fuselage, the front one can carry a single IR AAM each, while the rear one can carry 2 BVR AAM each. Any A2G weapons will have to be carried under wing pylons. So basically it is intended for Air superiority role .

Stealthy jf17 prototype makes its maiden flight
Jf17 goes stealthy, after all. As evident in the pic, there has been some re-designing done to reduce the plane's RCS, decreased weight by incrementing the use of composites which now translates as 70 % of jf17 body is now built with composites, which help reduce 1100 kg weight from the previous block 1 jf17s. Another major improvement is the power plant itself. a single Eurojet EJ200 engine. Decreased weight and increased thrust grant this stealth Jf17 block 2 the power to Super cruise . An IRST has been added and there is No internal weapons bay .
